Episode 4

Mizuki asks Yoh to go out again after a night of using their new bed sheets and realizes that Yoh likes him despite his hateful facade. Yoh declines, much to his dismay, because he promised to assist Man-san with her new manga. Mizuki reminds him of why they are living together in the first place, leaving Yoh with no choice but to cancel his plans with his friend.

Man-san, who previously had no interest in weather forecast programs, becomes concerned when Yoh abruptly cancels their plans and decides to visit his residence. To her surprise, the person who opened the door was none other than Mizuki Segasaki, her crush after first seeing him in Everyday Weather. Man-san has been a huge fan of Mizuki since Yoh introduced her to the show, and she even has uchiwas and mini-standees of him. She has never considered meeting Mizuki in person, believing that manga artists and weather forecasters live in a different world. With a big smile on his handsome face, Mizuki thanked Man-san for taking care of Yoh as a friend and invited her in, as if he had never been jealous of her before.

Man-san is led inside by Mizuki after recovering from her shock at seeing her idol crush, who appears to be dating her friend, where he politely apologizes that Yoh had to cancel their plans due to ”not feeling” well that morning. She couldn’t help but think Mizuki’s apology for Yoh’s health sounded intimate, and she said it aloud, much to their embarrassment. When Mizuki leaves them to prepare dinner, Yoh rushes to apologize for not informing her that he has been living with the weather forecaster they have been discussing for quite some time. Man-san requests alcohol to help her overcome the overwhelming sensation of breathing the same air as her idol crush.

Over dinner, Mizuki and Man-san surprisingly enjoy each other’s company as they discuss Everyday Weather, with the former even addressing the latter by her first name. Man-san recalls meeting Yoh at a doujinshi convention, where manga artists without publishers sell their work. She remembers Yoh accidentally hitting her tip jar and discovering that they share an interest in the same anime. They became good friends and helped each other from then on. Mizuki believes that tripping or hitting things is very much like Yoh, which causes the two of them to laugh. For some reason, the easy flow of conversation between Mizuki and Man-san made Yoh uncomfortable, resulting in him stepping out for a while and drinking excessively.

My Personal Weatherman

Man-san notices Yoh is already sleeping on the floor, and with Mizuki commenting that he is like that when he gets too drunk, they decide to call it a night. She finds Mizuki trying to wake up Yoh so he can move him to bed as she prepares to leave. She is surprised to see her friend being clingy and thinks the two look like a real couple, but Mizuki tells her that it’s only because of the alcohol, and Yoh is always aloof with him on a normal day. When Mizuki tries to stand up to accompany Man-san out, Yoh clings to him even tighter and continues to whisper no. Making Mizuki and Man-san laugh at his drunkenness. Man-san assures Mizuki that she does not need to be escorted to the train station because her husband will be there to pick her up. Mizuki realizes there is no reason for him to be jealous of her, and he shyly apologizes.

Mizuki cuddles Yoh into his arms and asks him why he is suddenly having a tantrum after sending Man-san to the door. To his surprise, Yoh emotionally bursts out saying that he likes Man-san and despises Mizuki, but he is bothered when Mizuki sits beside his friend and even addresses her by her first name. Mizuki realizes Yoh is jealous and smiles. He caresses Yoh and promises that he will never leave him.

Although he thinks it’s childish for him to be jealous of his friend, Yoh can’t help but blame Mizuki for making him feel that way. Yoh believes that Mizuki acting bossy and smug at him while also treating him nicely like a lover or gently touching him will cause him to misunderstand their relationship. He wonders if the embarrassing feeling he is experiencing is due to being in love.

Man-san tells her husband about Mizuki and Yoh when she gets home. She also tells him that before she left, she asked Mizuki when he fell in love with Yoh and was surprised when he replied that it was when Yoh first cooked him terrible curry. Man-san believes Mizuki is attempting to avoid answering her question, but she also believes the truth lies behind Mizuki’s smile.

Meanwhile, Yoh continues to sleep comfortably on top of Mizuki, who thinks that it would be nice if Yoh could be drunk forever if it would reveal his true feelings. Mizuki wishes he could eat that awful curry again.

Writer’s Thoughts:

Alcohol gave Yoh the courage to be honest with his feelings and express jealousy, much to Mizuki’s delight. Although it has always been clear to us that there is nothing romantic going on between Yoh and Man-san, we are relieved that Mizuki has been made aware of this as well. It will be interesting to see what happens when Yoh awakens from his comfortable sleep and remembers his latest outburst, or will he? Let’s find out in Episode 5, which will air on September 15th!
