First Dates and Romantic Feelings Happen in ‘Living With Him’ EP5

Kazuhito and Natsukawa go on a “date” in episode 5 of ‘Living With Him‘! But do they even know it’s a date…

Last episode, Kazuhito excitedly asked Natsukawa if they can go somewhere on the weekend when Natsukawa was supposed to go home. Natsukawa excitedly agreed.

That weekend, the two finally went on an outdoor trip together! They went on a camp where they built everything from all of the things they brought. The two are novices in doing everything, but with each other’s help, things went on smoothly. They built their temporary shelter, tables and chairs to rest on, and even started to build fire to start cooking. Well, Natsukawa tried anyway, because the igniter he brought won’t work. Good thing was there were girls who were also on the same area. Kazuhito approached them to talk and borrow a lighter so they can start fire. The girls were delighted to see Kazuhito, even recognizing him because of how popular he was when he was still playing baseball. Natsukawa looks on and feels sullen about the girls’ reaction to him. Kazuhito goes back to him with a lighter and Natsukawa, who was visibly jealous (but not visible enough to either of them), points out that the girls looked excited to see him. Kazuhito says that one of the girls seemed to recognize him from before. Natsukawa was was still focusing way too hard in lighting the fire when Kazuhito says that the girls wanted to eat with them. Natsukawa asked what he said, and Kazuhito said that he declined because he wants to eat together with just him. This surprised Natsukawa, and in turn, made him successfully light the fire he has been trying to ignite for a while. Kazuhito asked him if he wants to eat with the girls, but Natsukawa immediately said he wants to just eat together with Kazuhito. He was about to bring back the lighter to the girls, but Kazuhito stopped him and said he’d bring it back instead. The two finally successfully managed to cook and eat the food they brought, took photos of each other, and enjoyed their time together on their outdoor date.

As they were enjoying a nice board game, they both hear something in the background which immediately scared Kazuhito. Natsukawa smirks and brings out fireworks to scare off anything that might scare Kazuhito. Unfortunately, the fire that they used to cook was put out and the girls already left so they were not able to light the fireworks together. Despite that, Natsukawa thought that he wishes that they can stay the same way forever – enjoying each other’s company and having fun together.

Back at the safety of the indoors aka their home, the two childhood friends are enjoying a nice meal together. Natsukawa asks if they can light the fireworks he bought during their camping trip tonight. Kazuhito, however, apologizes and says that he has that drinking party tonight with his part-time job colleagues. Kazuhito says he’ll try to come home soon. Natsukawa says they can do it next time, and that Kazuhito does not have to push himself too hard for him. Out of the blue, Kazuhito mentions about their friend, Haruna, calling him by his first name. Kazuhito wonders aloud if he can call him by that, too. As the two ponder on calling each other by their first names, they both flush in embarrassment and immediately leave the situation (Kazuhito excusing himself to leave for work and Natsukawa saying he’ll clean up).

During the drinking party, one of his colleagues was trying to flirt with him, but Kazuhito kindly turns her down. When asked if he has a girlfriend, Kazuhito says he does not, but his friend and colleague Yashida tells the girl to give up on him. Kazuhito, however, admits to them that he has someone he likes, which surprised Yashida who says that she has never heard him admit that, but Kazuhito says he was keeping it private. Once he admitted that he has someone he likes, his colleagues gave him advice about testing the person he likes by making them jealous. Kazuhito was curious about it, but finally said that although he wants to know more about the person he likes, he does not really want them to worry (yes, green flag man!) and that he will patiently wait. And so, even though his colleagues were pressing on about doing karaoke after the drinking party, he still insisted he will go home. Yoshida, the good friend (and ex) that she is, helped Kazuhito to leave the party early. Outside the restaurant, Yoshida tells her friend that she won’t pry about who he likes, but she wants him to know that she is rooting for him. As he was about to leave, Yoshida gets a weather alert and notifies Kazuhito. He says goodbye and leaves to go back home.

Back at their home, Natsukawa misses Kazuhito… which made the feeling even more so when his sisters called him up to ask for his roommate’s latest photos and he ends up looking through their photos from their camping date. It, then, started raining hard which left Natsukawa quite worried about Kazuhito. He receives a group photo from Yoshida and Natsukawa replies asking if the party is an all-nighter. Yoshida calls him and asks if Kazuhito has come back yet since he has left for a while now. Natsukawa gets up and realizes that Kazuhito might be stuck somewhere due to the storm. He tries calling him, but his phone was out of coverage. Natsukawa hurriedly prepares to leave, but when he was just leaving, Kazuhito suddenly enters their house, completely soaking wet from the rain. He says that his phone battery suddenly ran out and the train stopped running so he had to run home. Natsukawa panicked at the state of his roommate and hurriedly gets him a towel to dry him off. He flicks Kazuhito’s forehead and tells him it is these types of situations when he should rely on him. Natsukawa goes to the toilet to quickly fix him a warm bath, however, Kazuhito enters the toilet and passes out on Natsukawa.
