New dishes, new feelings, and new romances (?) are coming up in ‘Naked Dining~Love, Life and Liberation~’ Episodes 3-4!
Episode 3: Sweet flashbacks and the anticipation of what’s to come!
Ichijou is finally back to being his usual zealous self and everyone in the office notices and rejoices!
He has the weekend marked on his calendar and is visibly excited to meet and be taught again by Mahiro.
The episode primarily centers on the flashback of the past weekend and what happened after their confrontation. After settling their differences and discussing their miscommunication, Mahiro starts to slowly open up and discuss the intricacy of the farming they do in the area. Afterward, they get the ingredients for the dish they will be cooking together.
Once back in the house, Ichijou suddenly remembers seeing Mahiro cleaning his grandmother’s backyard and asks him if it was indeed him to which Mahiro confirms. Now that they are working together, Mahiro notices how Novice Ichijou is in terms of cooking. In fact, he doesn’t even know how to put on an apron. Mahiro finds this adorable.
Ichijou, on the other hand, tells him how he notices the manual labor he does and how strong he is despite his small frame. Mahiro brushes this off and tells him it is part of the job since he took over his mom’s shop.
Meanwhile, Mahiro remembers the stories the grandmother told him about Ichijou and tells him not to work too hard when he comes back to the city.
The two continue to work around the kitchen with Mahiro patiently teaching Ichijou a few techniques such as how to separate the fish meat from the skin. He learns how determined Ichijou is and that even though everything is new to him, he is excited to listen and try. Ichijou does not fail to show his caring side, nevertheless, as shown when he gently wipes the coriander stuck in Mahiro’s face making the latter feel weird and warm inside.
After cooking, Ichijou plans to ask Mahiro to eat together but Mahiro announces that he has to go to the meeting held by the farmers in the area. Ichijou asks if he can join to which Mahiro agrees.
When Mahiro leaves to get ready for the meeting, Ichijou does his holy routine again which is… to eat NAKED!
He tries the food and falls in love with the taste. He adds lime to the fish wrap and salsa and sighs. He feels he is in heaven!
In the farmer’s meeting, the participants led by Mahiro discuss the various vegetables, fruits, and herbs requested by the community. Although some are foreign, they are open to learning how to plant and cultivate new kinds of produce.
Ichijou sits on the side, listening in. He is informed by one of the older women there that they do this segment in the meeting called Omosubi Rice Meeting which is bringing delicious food to connect to people. He feels welcomed and is doted on by the women there.
However, a woman named Riho-chan arrives to Mahiro’s delight (and Ichijou’s confusion) with new jams in tow. Ichijou shrugs off the weird feeling blossoming in his chest seeing the two together.
On the ride back to the house, the Mahiro and Ichijou share a promise of another weekend of learning and enjoying good food together.
At present, Ichijou smiles at his calendar, anticipating the coming weekend.
