A vampire Japanese BL is on the way!
The manga’s official account has confirmed that both a live-action film and a television anime adaptation are in the works for 2025. The anime is slated to air on TV Asahi, while the movie, distributed by Shochiku, is set for release in the same year. The manga focuses on Ranmaru, a 450-year-old vampire who works part-time at a public bathhouse. He seeks the ultimate taste of an 18-year-old virgin and so watches the growth of the bathhouse owner’s son, Rihito, and tries to keep him from losing his virginity. The BL manga “Baban Baban Ban Vampire” described as “Bloody Love Comedy” by Hiromasa Okujima debuted in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shounen Champion magazine in October 2021. The sixth volume was released in December, and the seventh volume is scheduled for release on March 7, 2024. Hiromasa Okujima commemorated the great news by sharing an illustration featuring the 450-year-old vampire, Ranmaru, and the 15-year-old boy Rihito.
