LOOK: ‘Queer’ is Heartbreaking in New Stills Ft. Release Updates!

We are screaming, crying, throwing up in anticipation!

‘Queer’ has been the movie to look out for in 2024! Set to have its movie premiere at the Venice Film Festival, some stills were released, giving us the first intimate look at the heartbreaking and touching story of Lee and Eugene.

The first look is of Daniel Craig who is dashing and captivating in his white suit, reading the newspaper with a fedora on his table. The vibe of the setting together with the fedora perfectly captures the essence of the film’s time (1940s).

The next photo however had us clutching our pearls. Drew Starkey is seen with a complex on his face while holding a devastated Craig on his chest. It is so different from the charming Craig in the first photo. This foreshadows the agonizing events his character will go through (no spoilers, of course!).

The film also found a home in A24, a popular independent film production and distribution company. It is known for creating award-winning hits, “Everywhere All At Once”, “Talk to Me”, “Uncut Gems”, “Midsommar”, “Lady Bird”, “Moonlight”, HBO’s “Euphoria”.

In a joint statement, Craig and Luca Guadagnino, the film’s director, expressed their excitement over joining forces with A24.

“Queer’ is a labor of love, and we could not be more excited that our film has found a home with a studio as daring, vital, and trail-blazing as A24. It is our deep honor to finally bring Burroughs’ legendary novel to life on screen for the first time, and we feel immense gratitude and excitement to be able to present it alongside our treasured collaborators. We could not ask for better partners on this journey.”
