Trans Actor Abigail Thorn Introduced In The LGBTQ Inclusive ‘House of the Dragon’ Season Two Finale

House of The Dragons Season 2

The LGBT-inclusive series ‘House of the Dragon‘ just introduced trans actress Abigail Thorn in the finale of the second season of the ‘Game of Thrones’ spin-off.

After eight exciting episodes, the HBO hit series finally concluded on August 4, Friday, with a finale that made queer fans happy with Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) reuniting for a brief moment.

But that is not all that piqued the interest of fans as a new character has been introduced, much to the delight of the viewers.

Thorn, a trans actor, plays the Lysene Triarchy Admiral Sharako Lohar, a vicious commander of the navy and a new ally to Team Green.

In George RR Martin’s books, Lohar is a man but in the series, her character is merged with Racallio Ryndoon, a captain-general who declared himself King of the Narrow Sea. Although Lohar identifies as a woman, society considers her a man because of her role in the war.

Thorn is a 31-year-old British actress who came out publicly as trans in 2021. Her acting credits include the ‘Star Wars’ spinoff ‘The Acolyte’ as its first out trans actor. She is also known for her YouTube channel Philosophy Tube where Thorn gives free philosophy lessons to her viewers following the increase in tuition fees in England.

Thorn may have had minimal screen time in the finale but fret not because we will see more of her in the third season, which has already been confirmed even before the second season’s premiere.

While waiting for the next season, fans can binge-watch the first and second seasons of ‘House of the Dragon’ on HBO and Max in the US and on Sky Atlantic and Now in the UK.
