Girlfriends, listen up! The upcoming Japanese gay musical ‘Girlfriend’ has unveiled its triple cast and has released its premiere date.
On March 18, Monday, ‘Girlfriend’, a play that tells the bittersweet love story of two young men, revealed the cast with some consisting of idol group members.
The actors who were announced are Kensuke Takahashi, Taisei Shima from NORD, and Takuma Izawa, who will all play the role of Will, and Keigo Hagiya from 7ORDER, Shion Yoshitaka, and Ruo Kihara, who have all been assigned to play the role of Mike.
This project is a pop-rock musical based on Matthew Sweet’s CD album “GIRLFRIEND” and it is written by Todd Almond. The story is set in a small town in Nebraska, USA in the 1990s, and depicts the bittersweet love between two young men.
