‘Green of Summer’: Sunset Studio’s Upcoming Korean GL

On July 12th, a fan noticed that Sunset Studio posted a recruitment notice on the filmmaker’s community website and was looking for two actresses to star in their upcoming GL ‘Green of Summer’. Applicants were also notified that this project will be having a kissing scene with the main character.

‘Green of Summer’ or ‘소녀19’, is the second installment in Sunset Studio’s LPL (Love, People, and Life) project, a short-form content creation project that focuses on LGBTQ people. The goal is to actively and organically connect viewers’ experiences by producing a script that centers on the lives of minorities as individuals in various ways. In addition, the project consists of 8 episodes with a minute run-time per episode and vertically filmed. And lastly, it depicts the love story developed through relationships.

A year ago, Sunset Studio released a promotional teaser of the ‘Green of Summer’ script, which you can read on their YouTube channel. It was originally written in Korean and had no official translation. Here are the characters to look forward to in this project!

Ji Eun Soo, a 19-year-old student, is the center of the love triangle. She has a strong sense of responsibility and an ambivalent personality. She also has mysophobia and lacks interest. Since Eun Soo transfers to different schools, she doesn’t have any friends, and she lacks social skills and the ability to understand others.
Kim Da Hyun is an 18-year-old student who has a crush on her senior, Yul. She’s the type of person who boldly conveys his feelings without giving up in a three-way face-to-face conversation.
Kim Min Joo is a top-notch student who is good at studies and sports and is a tough daughter. However, she’s trapped by expectations and under pressure, which leads her to create a void in her heart.
Shin Ji Won is an easy-going person with a laid-back personality. Everyone likes her because of her friendly aura. She’s smart but blunt and slow to realize it, and she finds comfort through music.
Lee Yul, a senior from the Photography Club. She grew up with her stepmother and half-brother after her dad remarried after her deceased mom. She doesn’t believe in love, and photography is only for pleasure.
