‘Young Royals’ Wraps Filming On Third and Final Season

It’s bittersweet news for fans of Netflix’s Swedish teen drama ‘Young Royals’ as it has been announced that it has officially wrapped up filming for its third and final season.

While its official release date is yet to be announced, fans can now anticipate the return of the beloved queer series as Netflix has revealed on their Twitter account that the filming is done through a short clip featuring the show’s stars, Edvin Ryding and Omar Rudberg.

“We just wanted to let you know that Young Royals and Season 3 is done,” Rudberg said.

Ryding then continued to share that “We had such a great time. I think one of my favorite moments from the season is shooting the final scene,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rudberg revealed that his favorite part of filming was “when we were shooting out in the woods all night. It was very fun.” Both actors ended the announcement by expressing gratitude to fans for their endless support.

On June 28, Wednesday, Ryding and Rudberg also tweeted to communicate their gratitude to the viewers of the show for sticking with them.

‘Young Royals’ is set at the fictional elite boarding school Hillerska and features the fictional Prince Wilhelm of Sweden (played by Ryding), his romance with fellow male student Simon Eriksson (played by Rudberg), and the scandalous drama which follows their relationship.

The final season will have Malte Gårdinger, Frida Argento, and Nikita Uggla returning to play their characters. The supporting casts Inti Zamora Sobrado, Beri Gerwise, Pernilla August, and Carmen Gloria Pérez, among others, are also expected to come back.
