Workplace Drama Series ‘Glamorous’ to Stream in June — And It’s Super Gay!

Netflix just announced that its new workplace drama series ‘Glamorous’ is coming this Pride Month, and it is going to scream queer!

According to Netflix’s official announcement, ‘Glamorous’ tells the story of “Marco Mejia, a young gender nonconforming queer man whose life seems to be stuck in place until he meets esteemed beauty mogul — and one of his biggest idols — Madolyn Addison.” In a turn of events, “Madolyn hires Marco and gives him a seat at the table. This new job is his first chance to figure out what he wants out of life, who he actually is, and what it really means for him to be queer.”

While the plot seems familiar, it’s definitely something the queer audience will love. As Queerty puts it, ‘Glamorous’ gives off a mix of “The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty in its DNA,” shows that are “important cultural touchstones for so many gays.”

‘Glamorous’ will star Miss Benny (they/them) who will play the lead character Marco. They are joined by Kim Cattral as Madolyn Addison. The cast also includes Zane Phillips as Chad, Madolyn’s son and director of sales, Jade Payton as Venetia, Madolyn’s first assistant and mentor to Marco, Michael Hsu Rosen as Ben, a graphic designer who catches Marco’s eye, Ayesha Harris as Britt, another graphic designer with office-related romantic aims, and Graham Parkhurst as the confident jock Parker.

‘Glamourous’ is executive produced by Damon Wayans Jr. and Kameron Tarlow, and produced by CBS Television Studios for Netflix. The series will have 10 episodes and will start streaming on June 22.
