WATCH: LGBTQ Inclusive Series ‘House Of The Dragons’ Season 2 Unveils Teasers, Posters For Team Black and Team Green

Surprise, surprise. The LGBTQ-inclusive series ‘House Of The Dragon’ has just unveiled its teasers and character posters for its second season.

On March 20, Wednesday, its official X account uploaded videos and photos showing the two factions of the House Targaryen divided by the war for the Iron Throne.

The posters push to the forefront non-binary actor Emma D’Arcy’s character Rhaeynyra Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower’s (Olivia Cooke) who have extremely sapphic-coded relationship, making them popular among its queer viewers.

‘House of the Dragon’ is based on Martin’s ‘Game of Thrones’ book ‘Fire & Blood,”’ and follows the story of the Targaryen dynasty in the fictional continent of Westeros. The story takes place nearly 200 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones.’

Aside from Rhaenyra and Alicent, ‘House of the Dragon’ is also well-loved by LGBTQ fans worldwide for having other queer characters such as Laenor Velaryon (John MacMillan) and his lovers, Qarl Correy (Arty Froushan) and Joffrey Lonsmouth (Solly McLeod). Unfortunately, the latter suffered the “bury your gays” trope and died a gruesome death, which isn’t unusual in George R.R. Martin’s world.

Production of the second season started at Warner Bros.’ Leavesden Studios on April 11 last year but stopped midway due to the Hollywood strikes from May to September 2023. It airs on June 2024.
