Everything Now

The trailer for Netflix’s upcoming queer teen drama ‘Everything Now’ has dropped Wednesday, September 6, starring Australian actor Sophie Wilde.

Trigger warning: mentions of eating disorders

The two-minute teaser for the new series explores eating disorders among queer teens specifically 16-year-old Mia who returns home after a lengthy recovery from an eating disorder.

In the clip, we see Mia worried that her friends may have left her behind as she returned to sixth form after being away for seven months. What ensues after is a deep dive back into crazy high school life, brimming with parties, drugs, sex, and tons of friendship drama.

An official synopsis for ‘Everything Now’ says “Along with an ever-evolving bucket list, three best mates and a major new crush, Mia throws herself headfirst into a world of dating, parties and first kisses, soon discovering that not everything in life can be planned for.”

Research by The Trevor Project states that nine percent of LGBTQ youth ages 13–24 stated that they have been diagnosed with an eating disorder, with an additional 29% stating they haven’t ever been diagnosed but suspect that they might have an eating disorder.

Aside from Wilde (‘Talk to Us’), the series also stars Vivienne Acheampong (‘The Sandman’) as Mia’s mother, Lauryn Ajufo, Harry Cadby, Noah Thomas, Sam Reuben, Niamh McCormack, Jessie Mae Alonzo, Robert Akodoto, and Alex Hassell. British legendary actor Stephen Fry who was seen recently in Amazon Prime’s hit gay rom-com ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ also appears as Mia’s doctor.

‘Everything Now’ will run for eight episodes and is set to premiere on October 5.
