‘Vacationland’ is an independent, gay-themed, coming-of-age full-length movie that was released back in 2006. It starred actors Brad Hallowell, Gregory J. Lucas, and Hilarily Mann, and is directed by Todd Verow. The movie is an official selection in the 2006 Berlin International Film Festival, 2006 Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival, 2006 Frameline Film Festival, and 2006 Chéries-Chéris Paris LGBT Film Festival. It depicts the story of Joe and Andrew, two high school youths who have a crush on each other but have difficulties reconciling with their sexuality in a small town.

Joe, a high school student living in the projects, navigates the challenges of his last year of school while working at a rundown mall and saving money for college with his sister Theresa. When he befriends retired artist Victor after responding to an ad, Joe’s interest in art grows, leading him to apply to art school. As he develops a complicated relationship with his best friend Andrew, deals with a manipulative girlfriend, and reconnects with an old friend, Joe’s journey becomes entangled with love, ambition, and a turbulent past.
