With the trailer for the third season of ‘The Morning Show’ now out, the big question especially for the show’s queer fans is: Will it continue the sapphic storyline it introduced in the previous season?
Apple TV+’s drama follows the story of two anchors — Alexandra “Alex” Levy (played by Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) — of a network broadcast morning news program. In the previous season, it introduced a gay storyline for Witherspoon’s character, Bradley, who has a massive liking for another female character, Laura, also a news anchor, played by Julianna Margulies.
The trailer for the new season does not show any sign of any sapphic content, as it highlights mostly tension and chaos. The synopsis for the season says, “[t]he future of the network is thrown into question and loyalties are pushed to the brink when a tech titan takes an interest in UBA. Unexpected alliances form, private truths are weaponized, and everyone is forced to confront their core values both in and out of the newsroom.”
