Domino Day’, a new supernatural queer witch series, is coming to town, and it’s a unique mixture of dark, sexy, and deep!
‘Domino Day’ is a six-part series from BBC that tells the story of a young woman, Domino Day, played by Siena Kelly, who is on an all-dating app. The thing is, she is not on these apps to find a special someone — she’s swiping to hunt.
According to BBC’s Media Centre, “Domino is desperately seeking a community who can help her understand who she is, but she doesn’t need to look far, as a coven of witches is already tracking her every move, convinced they have to stop her before her powers destroy everyone and everything around her.”
Interviewing its creator and writer Lauren Sequeira, she described ‘Domino Day’ as “about witches but looks at modern relationships as well. It’s a very sexy show, blending relationship drama with the supernatural, which I think young people will love.”
Interestingly, one of the main characters, Sammie, played by Babirye Bukilaw, is queer. “I’m really interested in projects where my intersections aren’t the plot,” Babirye told Pink News. “It wasn’t a plot that like Sammie is Black, it wasn’t a plot that Sammie’s queer.”
