It’s a win for the sapphics as BBC announced that its hit gay dating series ‘I Kissed A Boy’ will have its lesbian spin-off, aptly titled ‘I Kissed A Girl’!

‘I Kissed A Girl’ will follow the same format as its predecessor. It will have 10 episodes and 10 single girls will jet off to a European villa to look for their perfect romance. Before they can even exchange words, all contestants will meet for the first time with a kiss — yes, a kiss! No chat. No messages. After testing chemistry and finding their match, the girls are to kick start and work out what could possibly be their next summer love!

According to BBC Three, ‘I Kissed A Girl’ will “serve drama, smash stereotypes, and promise more twists and turns than ever.”

Dannii Minogue, who also played the resident queer Cupid for ‘I Kissed A Boy’, will continue to play the match-maker for the sapphic version of the show. “After showing love truly is for everyone with I Kissed A Boy,” she said in a BBC interview, “I am thrilled to have the chance to be Cupid again for girls in this second series.

Fiona Campbell, Controller for Youth Audiences, BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, said that they hope “audiences are enjoying the series currently airing on BBC Three and are excited for what the next series will have in store.”

Casting is now open for the series, and interested applicants can apply via the BBC Take Part website or through an online application form.
