A music festival in Malaysia has been shut down after the lead singer of the British band The 1975 Matty Healy openly criticized the country’s anti-LGBTQ laws and kissed a male bandmate on stage.
The incident at the Good Vibes Festival in Kuala Lumpur on June 21, Friday, prompted the country’s Ministry of Communications to cancel the rest of the three-day event where Healy slammed Malaysia’s stance on LGBTQ+ rights and told the crowd that playing there had been a “mistake”.
