The author of the ‘Heartstopper’ graphic novels and showrunner of the Netflix series Alice Oseman also shared the news on Instagram where she expressed how thrilled they are to cast Hand. Michael Holden is one of the main characters of their first-ever novel, ‘Solitaire’ and a character in the ‘Heartstopper’ graphic novels. He was described as “a quirky, eccentric optimist with a sunshine disposition.”
Oseman said in their post that it was a challenge to look for the actor that truly channeled Michael from the books but that Darragh warmed their hearts and made them laugh.
