The Marvel Cinematic Universe officially welcomed Joe Locke as “Wiccan” or William Kaplan or Billy Maximoff, the son of Avenger Wanda Maximoff or The Scarlet Witch in the 6th episode of Disney+’s ongoing series, “Agatha All Along”! And the queer news? HE’S GAY! Yay!

Although prior to the big revelation, Joe Locke’s unnamed character “Teen” was already seen mentioning his boyfriend in the first episode of the series. As the story went on, he was seen texting his “boyf”, and even joked that he didn’t want to go back to the closet when Agatha locked him inside one. It is very refreshing to see that such a pivotal character in a mainstream Marvel series is altogether not afraid to voice out his queerness. Indeed, it is a huge achievement to have an out-and-proud gay Young Avengers member in the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon!
