Jacob Anderson Teases “Surprises” For ‘Interview With The Vampire’ Season 2

Interview With The Vampire

Jacob Anderson has opened up on what he is looking forward to in the second season of ‘Interview With The Vampire’ and what fans can expect to see.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Anderson, who plays Louis, teased fans about the many surprises for the show’s second season.

“Dubai is really explosive. Dubai really took me by surprise this season,” he teased referring to the modern-day storyline of the series.

Despite hints of more surprises this season, fans who have read Anne Rice’s books are well aware of what is to come since the first season has remained almost entirely faithful to the source material save for the ending. Anderson promised that the second season would be just as faithful.

The 33-year-old actor said that there are a lot of things going on that are a part of the series of books, but also things that are the writers’s creations that make “complete sense to the characters.”

Anderson said that the theme of season 2 is that “memory is a monster and how memory and guilt can follow you around” referring to what Louis and Claudia did at the end of the series. Anderson added another big theme in the show is “endurance and resilience” due to what his character is experiencing this season which affects him in real life.

“There are things that I can’t talk about in this season that were really challenging and really shocking to me, and I’ve learned a lot of things about Louis and myself,” he remarked.

Anderson also shared that he is also excited for fans to see Louis’ new relationship with the vampire Armand (Assad Zaman) who was seen throughout season 1 with him in Dubai. A flashback story will come with the introduction of the deadly Théâtre des Vampires troupe which would explain how Louis ends up with Armand.

However, Anderson remarked that fans may find it hard to compare Louis’ relationship with Armand to Lestat but he stresses how important it is to see Louis’ connection with Armand as something entirely new.

Another new thing in season 2 is the debut of a new face as Claudia has been recast with Delainey Hayles after its original actress Bailey Bass exited the series. Anderson also expressed his excitement for people to fall in love with Hayles.

The second season of the show will premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2024.
