Streaming platform Hulu recently released the much-awaited first look at its freshest queer sitcom offering ‘Mid-Century Modern’.

The caption reads, “From the creators of “Will & Grace,” Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, and executive producer Ryan Murphy, comes a comedy about chosen family. Starring executive producers Nathan Lane and Matt Bomer as well as Nathan Lee Graham, and Linda Lavin, this series follows three gay best friends who, after an unexpected death, decide to embrace their golden years together in sun-soaked Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother.”
Dubbed the ‘spiritual cousin’ to the iconic show ‘The Golden Girls’, Matt Bomer shared that the series will have a plethora of nods and references not just to Golden Girls but also to other famous characters from various sitcoms that the actor grew up loving.
“Some of the circumstances are similar with this group of people, who have decided for a certain chapter in their life, they’re going to live together…so it’s sort of a hybrid, but I would definitely say it’s a spiritual cousin.”
