‘Glitter & Doom’, a queer romance musical, is coming to Frameline47, the longest-running LGBTQ+ film festival in the world, and the first photos of this star-studded show are out!
‘Glitter & Doom’ tells the story of two artists named Glitter and Doom (ignore the too-on-the-nose title) who embark on their respective journeys to follow their hearts’ desires but cross each other’s paths to fall in love.
Glitter, played by Filipino pop star Alex Diaz, is an Ivy League grad who runs off and pursues his dream to join a circus, despite disapproval from his mother (Ming Na-Wen, the voice of Mulan). Doom, on the other hand, who is played by newcomer Alan Cammish) is a musician who struggles to book himself a gig at a local gay bar because his music is quite of a downer. Aside from that, his mom (Missi Pyle) also has her issues.
Still, despite their differences, Glitter and Doom fall in love at first sight, but in this star-crossed lover’s story, they question if their romance is meant to last or if they’ll just get in the way of their dreams.
What makes this musical extra special is that it will also feature songs from the Grammy Award-winning duo, Indigo Girls, who will also be part of the cast! Aside from them, the cast also includes Peppermint, comedy stars Tig Notaro and Lea DeLaria, and Kate Pierson of the B-52s.
