Gay country singer Orville Peck has announced that he will be postponing his upcoming live performances to focus on his mental and physical health.

On June 22, Thursday, Orville wrote to his 600,000 followers in an Instagram post that he will be postponing all of his upcoming shows effective immediately, expressing that it was the hardest decision he ever had to make.

“I’ve come to realize that my current mental and physical health won’t allow me to bring you my best. My fans mean the absolute world to me and I am so incredibly thankful to every single person who has bought a ticket to come and see us play. I do not take it for granted,” Orville wrote.

The South African singer added that he will be taking the time to replenish his mind and body so he can come back stronger and healthier in order to be able to perform for a very long time.

“I truly hope you can understand. See you soon and sending all of my love,” he wrote.

Following his announcement, fellow celebrities expressed their support for the ‘Dead of Night’ singer, with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney saying, “We love you no matter what!”

Drag Race star BenDelaCreme also wrote, “Thank you for all that you share with us AND for showing your fans that taking care of yourself is strong, noble, and ESSENTIAL!”

Gay makeup artist Manny MUA also said “Sending so much love and healing energy! Gotta look out for yourself!”

Fans are also quick to convey their utmost support for the singer’s decision.

“Thank you for putting yourself first. Not only is that an important message for your fans to understand, but it’s so needed in the music industry. We need to normalize seeing musicians as people and not robots with unlimited energy/health. So thank you for putting this out on a large platform, hoping to see more musicians listen to their bodies/mental health and make healthier decisions,” one fan wrote.

Peck kicked off his ‘Bronco’ tour on June 20 with a sold-out and well-praised show in Madison Square Garden.

Peck was also slated to perform in Columbus, Cleveland, Asbury Park, Indianapolis, Omaha, Kansas City, and more on his 11-date run, before ending the tour on August 10 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
