Gay Actor Luke Macfarlane Now a Daddy, Welcomes Baby Girl

Gay actor Luke Macfarlane, 43, announced on Instagram on Wednesday the birth of his first child with his partner, former Alpine skier Hig Roberts, 32.

In an Instagram post, the Canadian-American star wrote, “Tess Eleanor Macfarlane— Born June 4th, 2023. We started life with some hectic days and received world-class care. On Father’s Day, we got to take her home. Her Dads can’t wait to introduce her to all the remarkable people and the beautiful world we live in.”

In addition to the happy news, the actor also shared heartwarming photos and videos from the hospital, including the moment he and Roberts left the hospital with their newborn daughter.

Macfarlane, who starred in Billy Eichner’s gay rom-com film ‘Bros,’ was immediately showered with heart emojis and congratulatory messages to express their support in the comments section from fans, co-stars, and friends like Drag Race superstar Symone, Shangela, co-actor Billy Eichner, Jack Falahee, and athlete Gus Kenworthy, and Colton Underwood.

“This is incredible news!! I am so happy for all three of you! Congrats,” his co-star, Allison Sweeney, wrote.

Macfarlane came out as gay in 2008 and became well-known for his roles as Scotty Wandell in the hit TV show ‘Brothers and Sisters’ (2006) and D’avin Jaqobis in the space adventure series ‘Killjoys’ (2015). He has since starred in a number of Hallmark movies like ‘The Memory Book’ (2014), ‘Christmas Land’ (2015), and ‘The Mistletoe Promise’ (2016), among others. He most recently appeared in the Apple TV show ‘Platonic’ with Rose Byrne and Seth Rogan.

Roberts, on the other hand, came out as gay in 2020 in an ‘Out’ interview and was a first alternate at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Roberts has won two slalom national events– in 2017 and 2018– before retiring in 2019.
