Filipino TV show ‘Zoomers: The Series’ has made a beautiful and swoon-worthy queer moment in an episode.

In the fifth episode of the series, Faye (Kei Kurosawa) comforts Tania (Kryst Ball) who is struggling with what she wants to pursue after senior high. Faye consoles her and tells her that she supports Tania which then leads to a short but sweet kiss.

The synopsis of the series reads: “The newest youth-oriented Kapamilya series revolves around the lives of senior high school students Jiggs (Harvey Bautista), Hope (Criza Taa), Kokoy (Luke Alford), Tania, and Atom (Ralph de Leon), who have forged a special bond of friendship during the pandemic. As they find their footing in this post-pandemic reality, witness how their friendship will be tested; as they will be challenged by their own pains, struggles, and dreams.”

Kurosawa earlier expressed in an ABS-CBN interview that the queer community has a special place in her heart.

“My dream role is to star in a GL show or movie because I’m very close to the LGBT community. They really have a huge part in my heart,” she said.

The young actress also shared that there is plenty of space for more queer narratives in Philippine media.

“Growing up, I’ve been consuming same-sex romance books, movies, and shows, and usually, that time that those shows and content were made were from a timeline when same-sex romance has not been normalized yet,” she said.

Kurosawa added that it is time to show representation for the LGBT community in terms of a light-hearted romance because it is what the community deserves.
