Filipino BL ‘Stay’ to Have World Premiere, Press Screening in Los Angeles

The 2023 Filipino BL series ‘Stay’ will have its world premiere and press screening in Los Angeles on May 19!

Team Campy Entertainment, the studio behind the series, announced on their social media sites. The premiere will be held at the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles. Three episodes will be shown to the press to be followed by a Q&A with the cast and filmmakers.

The full trailer for ‘Stay’ was first released in January 2023. Team Campy Entertainment describes it as “a feel-good romantic-comedy series filmed in Los Angeles, California.” It stars Sebastian Castro as Andre and Ellis Gage as Joshua. Multi-awarded actress Lotlot de Leon also joins the cast as Castro’s mother, while drag queen Bombalicious Eklaver will play Andre’s close friend.

‘Stay’ is directed, written, produced, and edited by Allan Ibanez and Dexter Hemedez who directed and wrote the multi-awarded feature film ‘First Semester’.

Castro rose to popularity in the Philippines following the release of his music video ‘Bubble’ in 2013. The music video also became his ‘coming out’ statement as a gay person. Prior to ‘Bubble’, Castro was not public about his sexuality. Castro also starred in several other Filipino films including ‘Bar Boys’ where he played the role of a gay law professor.

Ellis Gage, on the other hand, has extensive theater acting experience. In 2021, he starred as John in the premiere of Danny K. Bernstein’s musical ‘Far From Canterbury’ at The Barnstormers Theatre.
