‘Drag Race UK’ The Vivienne To Play Wicked Witch of the West In ‘The Wizard Of Oz’

The Welsh drag superstar was met with positive responses, praises, and congratulations from fans and fellow queens.

Diane Pilkington, a fellow musical actress who has also played the same role, said “You’re gonna be awesome and have such a blast! Watch out for that broom, it’s HEAVY.”

Fellow Drag Race alum Cynthia Lee Fontaine replied to her tweet saying “Sister this is one of my favorite musicals ever! Congratulations 🎊 this is amazing and you will be phenomenal!!!!!!”

Drag queen Kitty Scott Claus commented on her Instagram post, writing “OBSESSSSSED! Congratulations 💖💖💖💖”

‘The Wizard of Oz’ musical adapts the 1939 film of the same name, which was based on L. Frank Baum’s novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” The stage version features music by the brilliant and legendary composers Harold Arlen and Andrew Lloyd Webber, supplemented with lyrics by E.Y. Harburg and Tim Rice.

The west-end production of the popular musical will be directed by Nikolai Foster. It will be held at the Liverpool Empire, Liverpool, UK, from December 13 to January 7, 2024.
