The ‘Silent House’ is open! Filming has begun for the bromance drama that will premiere in 2025!
Tencent’s new Chinese bromance drama, ‘ Ya She’, also known as ‘Silent House’, is a 30-episode series with a 45-minute runtime per episode. With a scheduled 110 days of filming, it will premiere in 2025 in mainland China. The series is adapted from the novel of the same name by 玄色 (Xuan Se). The story follows Bi Zhi, an antique shop owner from the future, and Su Beilu, a modern-day veterinarian, who become partners on and journey to retrieve antiques. They experience different cultures and life’s ups and downs across different time periods, as narrated through their interactions. Throughout this process, they gain friendship across time and space and ultimately face their respective lives with optimism. Gao Wei Guang is confirmed to star as Bi Zhi and Liang Jing Kang as Su Beilu. Other actors have also been announced to join the series, like Zhang Miao Yi and Mao Xiao Hui.
Previously, Chinese animation company Colored Pencil Animation announced the production of the animated adaptation of the novel which was scheduled for release in mainland China by the end of 2023, but there has been no news of its release as of yet. The novel was also adapted into a motion comic in anticipation of the upcoming animated adaptation.
