Bobby Berk Announces LGBT Reality Show ‘Queer Eye’ Exit After Eight Seasons

‘Queer Eye’ co-host Bobby Berk has announced that he is exiting the hit Netflix show after its eighth season.

Berk shared the news on social media Monday morning with a heartbreaking post.

On Instagram, Berk wrote “It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that Season 8 will be my final season on ‘Queer Eye.’ It’s not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one. Although my journey with ‘Queer Eye’ is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon.”

The 42-year-old interior designer also expressed his gratitude to everyone, thanking all the “wonderful, loving, amazing, and brave heroes” for letting him into their homes and hearts. Berk also expressed that it is all because of the ‘Queer Eye’ supporters that he kept going all these years.

Berk has hosted Netflix’s reboot of the 2003 original with Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown and Tan France since 2018.

‘Queer Eye’ is a reality series that features a team of gay professionals performing makeovers in different fields such as fashion, personal grooming, entertainment, and culture collectively known as the “Fab Five.” Berk served as the interior design expert while on the show.

‘Queer Eye’ won 10 Emmy awards, including five consecutive wins for outstanding structured reality program from 2018 to 2022. It was also lauded for its strong representation among the queer community including people of color.

Season 8 will premiere on January 24 and will take place in New Orleans. Netflix has also renewed the show for a ninth season in Las Vegas.
