‘My Stand In’ follows Joe, a stuntman for the famous actor Tong, who forms a deep relationship with Ming, unaware that Ming sees him as a replacement for Tong. After Joe’s accidental death on a film set, he wakes up in another boy’s body named Joe. Ming tries to bring Joe back into his life, seeking closure for unfinished business. Will their love finally be fulfilled?

The official account of the series shared a preview for the upcoming third episode of the series. The video shows Ming and Joe seemingly beginning their life as a couple, though Joe admits they aren’t yet. While shopping, Joe notices matching cups and mentions that he wanted to get them but didn’t have a boyfriend then, Ming reacts, clarifying that they’re not officially a couple. Ming still feels jealousy towards Sol, not only when he approaches Joe, but also when he interacts with Tong. Additionally, Joe may have the opportunity to play a supporting character, although Tong seems nonchalant about this.
