Thai BL ‘Love Sick: The Series’ Returns With A Remake in 2024

On August 19th, from the same production as ‘My Universe’, Tia51, in partnership with INDRYTIMES, announced the remake of ‘Love Sick: The Series’!

‘Love Sick: The Series’ is a two-season TV drama that aired from 2014 to 2015 on MCOT9 HD and consists of 48 episodes in total, 12 from the first season and 36 from its sequel. The drama stars notable actors such as Chonlathorn Kongyingyong (Captain), Nawat Phumphothingam (White), Luangsodsai Anupart, Chindavanich Primrose, Charnmanoon Pannin, and Vachiravit Paisarnkulwong. It is based on Latika Chumpoo’s web novel, ‘Love Sick: The Chaotic Lives of Blue Shorts Guys’, and helmed by director Andy Rachyd Kusolkulsiri. Captain and White also appeared and played their ‘Love Sick’ characters as Noh and Punn in 2019’s ‘ReminderS’. And lastly, this TV series marks the beginning of Thailand’s exploration of the boys’ love (BL) genre to what it is today.

‘Love Sick: The Series’ explores students’ experiences attending an all-male college called Friday College. The series centers on the budding love story between Noh, the president of Friday College’s music club, and Phun, Friday College’s student council vice president.

Phun faces a dilemma as his father insists on him dating his friend’s daughter. To win her support, Phun convinces his little sister, Pang, to believe he has a boyfriend. Noh, a student council member, discovers his music club’s budget is short and needs money to purchase new drums. He finds Phun, the vice president, and convinces him to be his fake boyfriend in exchange for the money. Initially unwilling, Noh agrees to help Phun with their father. From there, their relationship revolves around their adventures and later evolves through these experiences, ultimately leading to their love for each other.

The remake of ‘Love Sick: The Series’ is planned to be released on July 6, 2024, on its 10-year anniversary! As of this writing, no further information has been released regarding this. Stay tuned to BLtai for more updates!
