Another web novel titled ‘UniverSad’ is getting a TV series adaptation!

On July 21st, Patrick Rangsimant, a Thai author and neurologist, announced on Twitter that his newest story, ‘UniverSad’, is getting a TV adaptation. He wrote web novels such as ‘Mystique in the Mirror’, ‘My Imaginary Boyfriend’, and ‘7 Days Before Valentine’, which all reportedly will be having their respective series adaptations slated for this year until next year and will be serialized into a webtoon by Kakao Webtoon. Patrick also wrote ‘My Ride‘, which was adapted into a TV series broadcast last year on local station GMM25 and is available to stream on GagaOOLala.

‘UniverSad’ is a neuro-fantasy romance set in a culinary-science school and scheduled to be released next year. The web novel hasn’t been published yet, but it will be releasing its first chapter in Thai on a web novel platform next month. On the 22nd of July, Patrick Rangsimant released its plot on his social media account.

The seemingly dull life of “Pipe” in his rather bland culinary science school suddenly turned rosy when he gathered the courage to confess his love to “Newt”, who reciprocated. But happiness didn’t stay with him as long as he had thought.

One morning, upon arriving at class, Pipe found that Newt was gone, replaced by a mysterious boy with the same name. At first, Pipe thought it was a joke, that Newt and the other friends in the room were playing a prank on him. But everyone seemed to see Pipe as the odd one, looking strange that day. And when the teacher came and everyone started studying, Pipe began to realize that this was not a joke. His Newt was really gone and had been replaced by this strange and mysterious guy using the same name.

Pipe checked everything of Newt’s, whether it was Facebook, IG, or Twitter. The accounts of the original Newt disappeared and were replaced by this new Newt as if overnight his Newt was erased from this universe and replaced by this enigmatic man. No one remembered the old Newt at all, only he did. Pipe concluded that if he was to get his beloved Newt back, he had to find out who or what this mysterious man, who came to take the place of his Newt, really is. So that he could have his Newt back.
