‘Heroin The Series’: The Thai Adaptation of the Chinese BL ‘Addicted’

“Heroin”, also known as “Addicted”, is a TV series adaptation based on Chai Jidan’s hit novel “Are You Addicted (你丫上瘾了)” and was released in 2016. It stars actors Huang Jingyu (Johnny Huang) and Xu Weizhou (Timmy Xu), and this project was their acting TV debut. It follows the story of Gu Hai and Bai Luo Yin, who were both sixteen years old despite their social differences and personal history forging a close love relationship. The series consists of 15 episodes and is directed by Ding Wei.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: It tells the homosexual story of Luo Yin and Gu Hai. Bai Luoyin grew up with his father and lived in poverty. At the age of 16, his biological mother remarried to a senior officer in the army. On the other hand, Gu Hai, the second-generation officer, had always resented his father because of his mother’s death. Knowing that his father was about to remarry, he even contradicted all his father’s arrangements and transferred to an ordinary school. When the new semester began, the two brothers with conflicting feelings were assigned to the same class. They developed different feelings towards each other. Yang Meng, the childhood friend of Bai Luoyin, and his classmate You Qi, also played a catalytic role in this relationship, and the colorful and stimulating life of high school began.
