‘Drag Race Thailand’ Season 2 Alum Bandit Dead At 38

‘Drag Race Thailand’ season 2 star Bandit has passed away at age 38.

World Of Wonder (WOW) has confirmed that Bandit also known as Bandit Janthawan died on Wednesday, December 27.

“We’re heartbroken to learn that Bandit, who competed on the 2nd season of Drag Race Thailand, has passed away. Bandit was a light in her local community and internationally, and she will be so missed. Our thoughts are with her family and friends,” WOW said.

The details surrounding Bandit’s death have not officially been released.

Before his rise to fame on the drag reality competition, Bandit had already made a name for himself in the local drag scene. He debuted on Drag Race Thailand season 2 in January 2019 and quickly became a favorite and top contender to win the crown with his skills in fashion design and ability to showcase major looks on the runway. However, Bandit only finished fourth place and eventually lost to Angele Anang.

Much like his contribution to drag, tributes came in waves both in Thailand and overseas from fans and fellow queens expressing their sorrow over the star’s death.

Pangina Heals, Drag Race Thailand co-host and UK vs. the World contestant, via call with Entertainment Weekly expressed her gratitude and sadness, saying he “would not be the same person I am today without Bandit teaching me about fashion.”

“He’s been such a visionary, such a giver. He’s always telling other people, ‘You can do this’ or, ‘Do that to be better,’ in terms of making sure other people have their fashion game on. He was such a funny person, such charisma, such magnetism, and without him, all of us don’t know what to do,” he said.
