Jonas departs from his usual sunny roles, stepping into intense emotional scenes. His muscular physique contrasts with the vulnerability he brings to his character, adding depth to his portrayal. In one particularly gripping scene, his character, upon suspecting infidelity, furiously bangs his head against a wall. Jonas became so immersed in the moment that the impact was so strong the director immediately called for a cut, and the crew rushed to pull him away from the bus stop wall, concerned he might hurt himself. This head-banging scene wasn’t just a one-time shot. Before filming, Jonas and co-star Xie Yun (Dai Shu) carefully discussed how hard they should hit the wall to heighten the tension for the audience.
The series is also packed with so many emotional moments that the drama coach jokingly called them a “crazy production crew,” with gut-wrenching scenes every couple of episodes. Each crying scene comes with a different emotional depth, pushing both Jonas and Xie Yun to their emotional limits.
