In anticipation of Love Mate‘s premiere this week, Studio Winsome released a new video featuring actor Cho Han Gyul’s voice in a character analysis of one of the drama’s main characters, Jeong Ha Ram.
Cho Han Gyul introduces his character, Jeong Ha Ram, as a puppy-like rookie employee who has an MBTI of ESFP. When asked about what kind of character Ha Ram is, Cho Han Gyul said that he is the type of person who is quirky but dependable. And despite Yi Jun (played by actor Cho Hyun Min) building a huge wall when it comes to relationships, Han Gyul successfully climbs through it with his charm so he can create a relationship with him.
Cho Han Gyul also mentioned that when he first received the script, he knew that it would not be easy to play this character. Additionally, he said that Ha Ram seems like a simple person who just follows his heart, but he is actually a meticulous person who plans everything — even relationships and who he will pursue. This is the reason why Cho Han Gyul thought Ha Ram is difficult to portray, and so instead of portraying him, Cho Han Gyul became him.
