These two famous Korean actresses will be starring in their respective sapphic films, which will be shown at the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival!
Han So Hee, more known as the main lead in famous K-Dramas such as ‘World of the Married’ and ‘Nevertheless’, will be starring in the Korean sapphic film, ‘Heavy Snow’ (폭설), which she started filming in 2019.
‘Heavy Snow’ is about the love and friendship between two girls growing into adulthood. These two girls started their friendship early in their high school days. They shared various feelings and falls deeper as they travel from Gangneung to Seoul. Although time and space were unkind to them, the film shows and captures the emotions of the two girls that continue to feel something towards each other. ‘Heavy Snow’ is director Yoon Su Ik’s first film in 10 years.
Meanwhile, another familiar name and face is also starring in a sapphic film that will be shown at the same international film festival. Lee Yoo Mi, more known as Ji-Yeong in Netflix’s ‘Squid Games’, is the main lead in the Korean sapphic film, ‘No Heaven But Love’ (우리는 천국에 갈 순 없지만 사랑은 할 수 있겠지(우.천.사)).
‘No Heaven But Love’ is a story set in the ’90s at a high school taekwondo club. It shows the friendship, love, and challenges that the LGBTQ+ youth had to face including sexual assault and violence. Starring with Lee Yoo Mi is actor Park Soo Yeon and is directed by Han Jay.
