The star of the upcoming Korean queer series ‘Love in the Big City’ spoke out against the backlash the actor and the series have been receiving online and on the streets from religious and conservative groups.

During the show’s press conference, when asked how he felt after receiving attacks and malicious comments online, Nam Yoon Su answered that he just laughed at the comments and brushed them off.

Reporter: Aside from the author, the actor also received a lot of DMs and organizations have reported of attacks. I’m curious about how you felt?

Nam Yoon Su: I actually didn’t care about that. When the teaser was released and I saw the malicious comments, I just laughed it off because those people were 1 in 100. Rather, there were a lot of messages of support.

The actor also said that in the past few days, various discussions have appeared regarding the upcoming drama and the topic of queer narratives. He is hopeful that the path has been opened for such stories to be shown. He also emphasized that he is not worried at all because he trusts his director and the writers involved in the creation of “Love in the Big City”.

It is noted that the teaser originally posted was removed due to protests as mentioned earlier. However, the production company has decided to make the trailer public again.

“Love in the Big City” is set to premiere on the streaming service Tving on October 21.
