‘His Man 2’ Junseong & Seongho’s Thoughts About Dating; Being Inspiration To Queer People in Korea

‘His Man 2‘ has produced one successful real-life couple, Lee Junseong and Shin Seongho! Due to overwhelming support from fans and viewers alike, they are now the first gay couple to grace Korean magazine, Dazed Korea.

The couple have just recently celebrated their 200th day after entering ‘His Man 2’ house and deciding to officially date right after. When asked about what they felt about the success of the show, Lee Junseong said, “It’s pretty much the same as before, but I was nervous because I didn’t really think that ‘His Man’ would do that well. I just feel at ease now that the program is over.” Meanwhile, Shin Seongho quipped, “I also feel relieved. Some part of me feels that way. I didn’t think that it would be too awkward and foreign (to me) when I was filming (the show). I felt excited once the last episode aired because while it was airing, we couldn’t even go out on a date. I like it right now.”

Meanwhile, the Dazed Korea interviewer mentioned that they were happy to see that there is a queer program such as ‘His Man 2’ and wished that there is such a program back in the day that would create a better inspiration for different kinds of love. Asking what they would like for the world to change, the couple answered directly. “I think there is a lot of prejudice in this world until now that (I) hope would disappear for (us) to see the world become a better (place),” says Junseong. “Of course, I think it’s slowly changing a bit. I hope that we, too, can become a precedent (in that change). Kind of like when a stream becomes one with a river and then the river becomes the sea. It would be good if we would be able to help up to that extent.” Additionally, Seongho agreed and added, “I have the same thoughts as Junseong. I hope that the people who are thinking of coming out gain strength by watching us, and I also hope that the people who have a hard time coming out would feel relieved inside their hearts when they watch us, too.”
