The beloved classic comedy BL is set to receive an anime adaptation!
Aniplex announced that ‘Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!’ (Go For It, Nakamura!) by Syundei will be having a TV anime adaptation. The story follows Nakamura Okuto, a shy high school boy, who finds himself overwhelmed by unfamiliar feelings when his classmate, Hirose Aki, suddenly appears in his life. Though they’re not friends yet, Okuto’s heart races uncontrollably whenever he sees Hirose. With a nostalgic 80s-90s vibe and art style, the series depicts the funny delusions and antics of Nakamura as he navigates his unrequited love for Hirose. The manga was completed in 2016 and the sequel titled, ‘Go for It Again, Nakamura!’ finished in 2021. It was both licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. The cover of the manga previously went viral with many artists redrawing the cover with their own characters.
Along with the announcement, a visual by the author was shared in commemoration of the anime adaptation. The official website has been opened and further details regarding the upcoming anime will be posted there along with their official account on X (formerly Twitter).
