Another Japanese BL is set to air next month, August!
Narashima Sachi’s ‘Cosmetic Playlover’ follows beauty consultant Natsume Mamiya, who is forced to work with his disrespectful junior, Touma Sahashi. Touma, now the top seller, discovers Natsume is gay and coerces him into a friends-with-benefits relationship. Narashima launched the manga in Libre Publishing’s Magazine Be-Boy in 2017. Animate International licensed the manga, and it is available digitally on Manga Planet under its futekiya (BL) category. Loved by many readers, the manga won the BL category of NTT Solmare’s Digital Comic Award in 2021.
Okuno So, who previously starred in “Although I Love You, and You?” as Sakae’s ex-boyfriend Mizuki, will be Natsume Mamiya, while Toyoda Yudai will portray Touma Sahashi. Takehiro Shindo will be directing the series, while Kanasugi Hiroko, who previously worked on “Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice but to Kiss!”, will be the scriptwriter. The production company that handled the video planning is the same one behind “Takara-kun and Amagi-kun” and “Living With Him.” The series is set to air on August 5 on FujiTV.
