The six-episode TV drama ‘Love is Better the Second Time Around’ is based on Kinoshita Keiko’s manga of the same name, depicting a mature tale of love revisited after a decade, where an older man grapples with honesty in reconnecting with his first love.

- Hasegawa Makoto as Miyata Akihiro
30-year-old mid-level editor of a business magazine. When he was in high school, he had a pure crush on Iwanaga, but as he got older, he started thinking more realistically. He vows that Iwanaga will no longer be at his mercy. Mochizuki Haruki will be portraying him at the age of 16.
- Furuya Robin as Iwanaga Takashi
32-year-old associate professor at a popular university. A person who has an easy-going attitude and doesn’t reveal his true feelings. After meeting Miyata again, he tries his best to woo him. Nose Rin will be portraying him at the age of 18.
- Takamatsu Aloha as Shiraishi Yuto
25-year-old assistant to university associate professor Iwanaga Takashi. He is fond of Iwanaga and has a rivalry with Miyata Akihiro.
- Nagase Riko as Fukuda Ako
Miyata Akihiro’s 29-year-old girlfriend. Considering her age, she wants to get married, but she is a little fed up with Miyata, who only thinks about work.
- Shiraishi Shunya as Sugimoto Kyosuke
The 34-year-old representative of Sugimoto Winery. He approaches Miyata Akihiro during an interview for a business magazine.
