LGBTQ+ BL global media hub GagaOOLala announced plans to feature the newest Japanese Boys’ Love drama ‘Love is Better the Second Time Around’ next month on the platform.

The six-episode TV drama ‘Love is Better the Second Time Around’ is based on Kinoshita Keiko’s manga of the same name, depicting a mature tale of love revisited after a decade, where an older man grapples with honesty in reconnecting with his first love. It stars Hasegawa Makoto (THE RAMPAGE) and Furuya Robin and is helmed by Yasukawa Yuka, one of the directors, known for her work on MBS’ Drama Tunku’s first original screenplay, ‘Jack O’ Frost‘, which is also available to stream on GagaOOLala.

The official Japanese synopsis reads, One day, Akihiro Miyata, a mid-level editor at a business magazine, visits popular university associate professor Takashi Iwanaga to ask him to write an economics column. However, that person was his first love, whom he broke up with during his high school days! It has been more than ten years since he moved to Tokyo. Miyata, who had completely sealed off the past where he had a big love affair to the point where he promised to elope, was able to find a girlfriend who was thinking of marrying him and was living a “normal” life. Even after they meet again by chance, Miyata treats him as a business partner and vows never to fall in love with Iwanaga again. However, he is as beautiful and talented as ever… Iwanaga’s pace, which repeatedly speaks sweetly to him… His work and private life are at the mercy of him!? Ideals, reality, pride… An over-30 boy who can’t be as honest as he used to be, meets his soulmate again. What will happen to this frustrating “second” love, full of tactics…!?

‘Love is Better the Second Time Around’ is set to premiere on March 6 and will air every Wednesday at 10 AM GMT+8 on GagaOOLala worldwide, except in South Korea and Japan. Please stay tuned to our exclusive recap of the show!
