Time heals all wounds, but can it do the same for love? ‘Tokyo in April is…‘ is now streaming on GagaOOLala!
Kazuma Takizawa, back from the United States, unexpectedly reunites with his classmate and former lover, Ren Ishihara at work. However, Ren avoids discussing their past separation. What happened between them during that summer a decade ago?
From the first episode, the way the flashbacks in the story were done was well-placed, drawing interesting parallels and differences with the present timeline. With the casting for both the younger versions being carefully done, it is easier for the viewers to recognize and connect with the past and present characters. Ren’s nonchalant reaction to seeing Kazuma again after ten years is puzzling, making Kazuma and the viewers eager to figure him out. He continues to display a genuine concern for Kazuma, leaving us uncertain if his behavior towards him is intentional. With plenty to explore and uncover, we hope to witness progress mixed in with angst as the protagonists navigate through their relationship. While the storyline may not be entirely new, the lingering questions about what transpired between the two characters make it worth following. It’s best to keep watching and find out if this one will really break our hearts or not.
