The new Japanese BL series, ‘Our Dining Table’, is now available on GagaOOLala!
‘Our Dining Table’ is a sweet story about a salaryman who—with a talent for cooking—overcomes his shyness through food with the help of two brothers who ask him to teach them how to make his delicious food.
The first episode was released on April 6, and the pacing already showcased how this will be your laid-back comfort series to watch after a stressful day. The 23-minute runtime is packed with an overall homey vibe, the cooking and food preparation scene is a feast to watch and you can even cook alongside the instructions given by Yutaka! The rice ball in the first episode is used as a metaphor for ‘freedom’, and how food, in general, now fills Yutaka up with warmth after the entrance of the two brothers into his life. We do get some quick angst with the flashback scenes but it’s easily overthrown by the cute interactions of Tane, Yutaka, and Minoru. The manga panels are actually displayed with the ending song and it shows how the current adaptation is trying to stick to the original as much as possible. This is definitely a series you should watch if you are a fan of the manga or if you are looking to enjoy something heartwarming.
