Actor Lee Jonghyuk was personally surprised by how well ‘Our Dating Sim’ fared!

In a recent interview with Star News Korea, Lee Jonghyuk (who played the role of Wan) expresses that he was also surprised by how good the viewer reaction was to the Korean BL ‘Our Dating Sim’. He said, “The genre was already given, but I couldn’t readily ‘do it’ [per se] because I thought ‘Can I really do this character?’ The character was so delicate, soft, and boyish so I thought I couldn’t really do justice to this character.”

Despite those thoughts, however, Jonghyuk still managed to get on board thinking that it would be a good challenge to do especially as a rookie.

Last March, ‘Our Dating Sim’ dominated local OTT platforms, ranking first and proving its popularity with viewers. Speaking of the drama’s popularity, Jonghyuk said, “I got calls from people I have not contacted in a while, and they were just as surprised as I was that [Our Dating Sim] did so well. They called me to just relay that they also have a good reaction [when they watched the drama]. Jonghyuk also honestly expressed that he is worried about the sudden interest of so many people in him, but that he will try to do well for the people who support him.

Lee Jonghyuk is currently starring in a high school drama ‘BITCH X RICH’ with Red Velvet’s Yeri, Lee Eun Saem, Yoo Jung Ho, and more.
