The short film sequel to ‘Pure Vanilla’ is now streaming!
‘Pure Vanilla‘ is a 9-minute Singaporean short that was released this past Valentine’s Day, depicting Charlie, who has always had a secret crush on Gabriel, but he’s not great with expressing his emotions. Sparks fly when the two spend the night putting together the perfect recipe for a Valentine’s Day TV special.
After successful crowdfunding, 250 films released its sequel, in which actors Braven Yeo and Soh Deng Sun reprised their roles as Gabriel and Charlie, along with Leon Koh as Alex. The 22-minute-long sequel ‘Pure Vanilla: Recipe for Romance’ is helmed by Mickey Hiah, who also serves as its screenwriter.
The sequel highlights that love comes in the most unexpected way and embarks on the continuation of Gabriel and Charlie’s budding romance. However, a new character named Alex, who seems related to Charlie, joins them as he’s part of the TV special. Their meeting leads to stirring Gabriel’s pot of jealousy; will this lead him to express his feelings toward Charlie? How will Charlie deal when the producer of the show confesses to him? Are Gabriel and Charlie able to figure out what’s the missing ingredient for their ‘romance recipe’?
