Filipino animated film titled ‘Zsazsa Zaturnnah vs. the Amazonistas of Planet X’ dropped its thrilling trailer, exciting old and new fans of the queer icon.
The film is based on the Philippine LGBTQ graphic novel created by Carlo Vergara about a gay hairdresser, who lands himself a magical stone from outer space, transforming him into a flamboyant female superhero called Zsazsa Zaturnnah.
On July 7, Sunday, the film’s official X account released the exciting trailer with the caption, “Zsazsa Zaturnnah Kickstarter is LIVE! Please help us fund the film so we don’t have to sell our kidneys. In return, you get art, comics, & be in the film as a cartoon extra!”
The trailer shows Ada, a bashful gay beautician with a boring life that revolves around his work at Ada’s Salon. His monotonous life is broken by a small meteorite that lands on his salon with the word “Zaturnnah’ engraved on it. Curiosity takes over Ada and he swallows the melon-sized stone, transforming him into a strong and beautiful superhero woman, Zsazsa Zaturnnah. Thus begins his battle with the evil forces that threaten the safety of the townspeople including the love of his life, Dodong.
