‘Ly Ly is Me’: Based on the Real-Life Story of a Lesbian

‘Ly Ly is Me’ is a 4-episode miniseries with 20–30 minutes of duration per episode and is based on the real-life story of a lesbian, which proves that true love is worth every sacrifice and hardship. The drama features actor Mao Roy Heng with Samnang and is written and directed by Bun Chanty.

This is the first sapphic drama to be released this year as an exclusive series of Sastra Film, known for ‘Senior and Junior’, ‘Today, Tomorrow, I Love You’, Don’t Mess with Senior’, and ‘Sweet Love’.

The story begins with “Ly Ly” being rejected by the girl she loves and wishing to forget this love and bury it somewhere, as she doesn’t deserve to suffer this kind of pain. It was on that same rainy night that Ly Ly’s path crossed with that of a kind-hearted stranger. The lady, noticing Ly Ly’s drenched in the rain, offered her an umbrella with a gentle smile. Little did Ly Ly know that this chance encounter would mark the beginning of a new chapter in her life.

Years went by, and Ly Ly found herself reunited with the girl who had broken her heart. She seemed satisfied with her actions, given that Ly Ly was doing well and had the freedom to pursue her interests. This sparked jealousy when his new partner saw them hugging. After resolving the misunderstanding, Ly Ly decides to live with her new-found “the one” forever, as she requests. Her partner agrees and assures her that she will stay by her side, as long as she does not desert her.

But as they embarked on their journey together, challenges arose, threatening to test the strength of their bond. Misunderstandings and insecurities reared their heads, casting doubt over the future of their relationship. Ly Ly’s partner questioned whether she was truly enough and whether their love was worth fighting for, and for a moment, their love trembled beneath the weight of uncertainty.

Ly Ly stood firm in her commitment, rejecting fear’s hold, and believed true love was worth every sacrifice and hardship, confident that facing challenges together would only strengthen their bond. (SPOILER ALERT: It’s a happy ending!)
