‘My Love Mix-Up TH’ is staying true to its name by mixing things up with every new episode! Anyone who thinks the Thai adaptation isn’t worth watching since it just tells the same story as the Japanese adaptation couldn’t be more wrong! Here’s a list of three ways the Thai adaptation has kept things fresh for viewers already familiar with the other live-action adaptation!
Recharacterization Of The Sports Love Rival
Instead of the rival school’s pretty team assistant, Matsuuchi Kokomi, the Thai adaptation gave us Claire, a childhood friend of Kongthap and his teammate Khao-pan. While the storyline starts out similarly with Atom seeing her as a rival for Kongthap’s affections, the twist at the end of the episode is completely different! While Matsuuchi pursued Ida in an attempt to get over their coach, who rejected her advances, Claire actually had her eyes on Khao-pan and was trying to get Kongthap to help her win him over. Not only is this a much more age-appropriate crush compared to Matsuuchi’s attempt at winning over a teacher, but it also gives Claire a more personal connection to Kongthap as his old friend, fleshing out their dynamic further. Who knows, maybe Claire will even return in a future episode to continue trying to win Khao-pan’s heart!
